Meski salah satu lagu Sam Smith ini banyak  tersandung masalah karena terdapat kemiripan dengan lagu-lagu yang telah beredar sebelumnya seperti lagu I Won't Back Down yang keluar Pada tahun 1989 dan juga demo lagu Don't Throw Our Love Away pada tahun 1986, Tetapi lagu ini berhasil membawa Sam smith pada tangga kesuksesan. 

Pada ajang Grammy Awards 2015 Lagu ini berhasil memborong dua piala untuk kategory Song Of The Year dan Record Of The year. Pada ajang itu sendiri Ia berhasil membawa pulang 4 piala.
